For the second year the Ladies Ministry of the Beltway Church of Christ hosted a Diaper Drive for the Maryland Diaper Bank. This is event is designed to help provide mothers with basic essential diaper needs. Items collected include diapers, baby wipes, and bottles as well as monetary contributions. The primary purpose of the drive was to engage the community in a much-needed initiative in support of the mission and vision of the Maryland Diaper Bank, which is to provide basic diaper needs to stimulate health, growth, and good hygiene for babies in Maryland, and to reduce the struggle of Maryland Families by providing babies with adequate diapering essentials. Their goal is to serve parents who need these essential items. The Maryland Diaper Bank serves families with children 5 and under in Calvert, Charles, Prince George’s, and St. Mary’s County. Diapers and diapering essentials are distributed to those who need it most. Diapers are only distributed through designated organizations and individuals may not obtain supplies from the Maryland Diaper Bank directly. Please contact the Diaper Bank for a list of organizations. You can get information on how to receive diapers at their website, https://www.marylanddiaperbank.org/. Despite the rainy weather that day, we received the following donations: Approximately 5,000 diapers, 850 ounces of formula mix, 6,200 wipes, and two dozen bottles. Special thanks to the following members who came out to support the event: Gloria Casteel, Willie Mae Flennaugh, Mae Johnson, Doris McCray, Paulette Morton, Samara Parker, Penelope Richardson, Felicia Robinson, India West, and Kalandra Williams. Men who came out to support the event were: Andrew Johnson, Nigel McPherson, and Chris Ward by Roslyn McCloud, Beltway Healthcare Ministry
