We welcome
your interest in the usage of our facilities. We request that you
cooperate completely in assisting us in upholding the standards of this
congregation. As a rule, the building facilities may be booked for usage
by either a member or non-member adhering to the general guidelines that
follows:
Games of
chance and any other devised for the purpose of gambling or can be
considered gambling is strictly prohibited.
Excessively
loud music and dancing of any type are strictly prohibited.
General
Rules:
The person
securing permission for the use of the building will be responsible for
ensuring that all rules and guidelines are strictly followed.
Note
– Events scheduled which can be construed as a benefit to the church or
within the scope of normal church activities are considered public usage
and will be subject to approval of paid usage, unpaid usage or disapproved
at the discretion of the Eldership. This includes such activities as
fundraisers, other churches’ sponsored events, public school events, etc.
Scheduling:
All
activities and events MUST be scheduled through the church office
(The minister or the church business manager holds the schedule book).
Your request MUST be approved by the Elders and will be placed on
the master calendar of events.
All events
will be scheduled on a first come, first served basis.
No events
(outside normal church activities) will be scheduled on Sunday, Wednesday,
New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day,
Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve or Christmas Day.
All weddings
MUST be scheduled to begin not later than 7:00 PM.
Fees:
Members.
There will be no charge to members for use of the auditorium and
fellowship hall for weddings or funerals. However, weddings and other
events (baby showers, birthday parties, wedding showers, family reunions,
etc.) which are scheduled for more than an hour and will included more
than 20 participants will be assessed a $50.00 per hour charge to
defray expenses such as custodial services, gas and electricity, custodial
supplies, etc.
Non-Members
A fee of
$150.00 per hour will be charged to non-members for the use of the
building in accordance with church policy and applicable guidelines for
the building. If only the sanctuary or the fellowship hall will be used,
the fee will be $150.00 per hour or fraction thereof.
An approved
technician, by the leadership, will be required to operate the audio
system.
A fee of
$150.00 will be required for janitorial and trash removal services.
In addition
to the fees required for use of the building, a security deposit of
$300.00 must be paid two (2) weeks prior to the event. The security
deposit will be refunded in full.
When placing
flowers and other decorations, the decorator must ensure that the floors,
carpets, walls, and furnishings are protected from damage. No materials
should be used that may permanently deface the walls, floors, or
furnishings. Decorations should not be hung or suspended from light
fixtures.
No
stationary pews should be moved.
All
decorations should be removed immediately following the wedding,
reception, or other approved event. Additionally, all items must be
returned to their original places immediately following the events. Also,
please inform a member of the church leadership if you want to leave
flowers in the building for Sunday Services.
All rented
items MUST be removed immediately following the wedding, reception,
or approved event.
The church
will NOT be responsible for personal or rented items brought to the
building for use in weddings, receptions, or other events and activities
approved by the church leadership, nor will the church be liable for such
items if lost, stolen, or damaged.
For
weddings: rice, confetti, and birdseeds are NOT permitted in the
building. Birdseeds may be thrown outside the building, but should not be
given to guest inside the building.
Smoking is
NOT permitted ANYWHERE in the building.
Alcoholic
beverages and controlled substances ARE NOT PERMITTED ANYWHERE in
the church building or on the church property. Any member or guest who
brings alcoholic beverages or controlled substances on the property, who
attempts in any form, or who is detected to be under the influences of
such, will be asked to leave the premises immediately. To avoid
embarrassment, the person securing the use of the building should advise
their guest of the church’s policy regarding alcoholic beverages and
controlled substances.
Funeral
for Members:
When a
church member passes, the Deacon responsible for the benevolence ministry
will contact the family as soon as possible to offer condolences on behalf
of the church and explain to the family the means of assistance the church
offers, The following means of assistance are offered:
Writing the
Obituary
Delivering
and picking up the obituary from the printer
Paying for
printing of no more than two hundred (200) copies of the obituary.
Providing a
meal for the family the day of the funeral
Provide and
organize participants (if necessary) for the funeral, i.e. pallbearers and
flower bearers
The
Elder/Deacon (Benevolence Ministry) will stay in contact with the family
and when final arrangements have been made, the Deacon will make sure that
all necessary information is forwarded to the proper people (Minister,
Elders, Deacons, Song Leader, etc.)
If the
family decides that the church will be responsible for the meal on the day
of the funeral, the Deacon will explain that the church has a standard
menu and the family must use it. The Menu is as follows:

Non-Members
The funeral
of a non-member may be held at the church building as long as a Minister
in good standing with the Church of Christ officiates the ceremony. If the
family of the deceased wishes to use only the church’s fellowship hall for
the repast, a nominal fee of $50.00 per hour will be required. |
